Saxon Switzerland National Park Centre

Where films once flickered across the screen in the old cinema, the animals and plants of the Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland national park region are now the stars at the National Park Centre in Bad Schandau. The building was constructed as a cinema in 1953. In reference to this history, seven thematic stages now shed light on the special features of the local nature: complex processes as computer animations, hands-on models to touch and try out – informative, interactive and guaranteed blockbuster quality!

In exhibitions on nature and culture, as well as in projects and events, the aims, tasks and special features of the Saxon Switzerland national park region are presented. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the building and the numerous active experience and information areas. Relax during our multi-vision show and in the adjoining garden.

Directly opposite the National Park Centre you will find lockable bike boxes for bicycles and luggage. You can obtain the keys at the ticket office and from the Tourist Service on the nearby market square.
