A section of the cycle path between Kurort Rathen and Königstein will be closed until 30.11.2026 due to construction work. There is no cycle path on the other side of the Elbe. To avoid a long detour over the hill and along the main road, pedestrians and cyclists can use an old flood path on the other side of the railway embankment. Cyclists must walk their bikes here. The diversion is signposted.
Coming from the spa town, turn right at the former Pension Vogelsberg and go under the railway line. Then continue to the left. After the narrow path joins the Elbhäuserweg, you can go under the railway embankment again to reach the Elbe Cycle Route.
Alternatively, you can take the S1 S-Bahn for one stop.
