There are plans to signpost the gap in the Elbe cycle path on the left bank of the Elbe between Pretzsch and Pratau. Until now, cyclists have been able to use the town bridge in Pratau to get to Lutherstadt Wittenberg or take the ferry to Mauken in Pretzsch and follow the signposted ‘official’ Elbe cycle path on the right-hand side of the Elbe.
What does this mean for you?
You can already cycle comfortably on both sides of the Elbe. If you orientate yourself digitally with the help of GPX tracks, you can easily make progress on both sides of the Elbe. Anyone without digital support can continue to follow the existing route guidance and switch to the right-hand side of the Elbe.
