Elbquelle (pramen Labe) Riesengebirge

Section V – right of the Elbe – approx. 700 m from the Elberadweg

(Královéhradecký kraj/CZ)

Die Elbquelle (pramen Labe) befindet sich auf dem Kamm des Riesengebirges (1386 m) auf der Elbwiese (Labská louka). Die wirkliche Quelle der Elbe befindet sich in den Torfmooren etwa 150 bis 300 m von hier und ist aus Gründen des Naturschutzes für die Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich. 1968 wurde hier eine Steinwand mit den farbigen Stadtwappen jener bedeutenden 26 Städte errichtet, durch welche die Elbe bis zur Nordsee hindurchfließt.
