This is the nautical side of the Elberadweg. Cuxhaven and Brunsbüttel are the major cities on both sides of the Elbe in this section. At times, the other side of the Elbe’s banks disappear over the horizon.
Glückstadt and Stade are the two major highlights in this section. The Elbe is growing ever wider, and you can now see many elongated stretches of beach on its banks.
With its harbour combining history and international city flair, the Hanseatic city of Hamburg offers you just this. The maritime landscape of the Lower Elbe ends here.
